The Reds have been linked with a move for Zubimendi for several months, and it appears that their interest has only intensified. The 25-year-old has been a standout performer for both club and country, and his impressive displays have caught the eye of some of Europe's top clubs.
Arne Slot, who took over as Liverpool manager in the summer, is believed to have identified Zubimendi as a key target to bolster his midfield. The Dutchman is keen to add a more defensive-minded midfielder to his squad, and Zubimendi's ability to break up play and start attacks from deep makes him an ideal candidate.
Zubimendi is currently earning around €3 million per year at Real Sociedad. However, Liverpool are prepared to offer the Spaniard a significant pay rise in order to lure him to Anfield. The Reds are also expected to have to meet Zubimendi's €60 million release clause if they want to sign him.
Liverpool are not the only club interested in signing Zubimendi. Several other top European sides have been linked with a move for the midfielder, including Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
Since breaking into the Real Sociedad first team, Zubimendi has established himself as one of the most promising young midfielders in European football. His ability to read the game, intercept passes, and distribute the ball accurately has made him a vital player for both club and country.
