Former Liverpool manager and footballer Jürgen Klopp has joined Red Bull as head of the global football division. Helmut Marko and Max Verstappen are very happy with the signing, while the Milton Keynes-based training advisor is reportedly interested in 'rescuing' the German for the Formula 1 team.

After leaving Liverpool at the end of last season, Klopp has embarked on a new adventure with Red Bull as head of the global football division. His job will be to act as a strategic advisor to the brand's international football network. He will support the sporting directors and reinforce the Red Bull philosophy in each of the teams. He will also contribute to tasks such as global talent scouting and the development of coaches within the organisation, so his role will have a very wide scope.

Although Klopp will be moving in a different environment to the Formula 1 team, Helmut Marko and Max Verstappen have shared their opinion on the signing and both agree that Red Bull could not have chosen a better person. The Austrian has even dared to flirt with him by hinting at how good his incorporation into the F1 structure could be.

"Red Bull has one club in Germany, two in Austria, one in England, one in Japan and one in Brazil. I would love for him to be involved with the drivers, his experience and leadership could be instrumental. He is an exceptional coach and also a great motivator," Dr. Marko told Sport.de.

"I don't know how he intends to combine all these different continents and other challenges, but since football plays a very important role for us, I think this is the best move we could make," added the Austrian veteran.

"I knew for a long time that they were talking and that it was close to being signed. I think that's great. Red Bull is investing a lot, also in football. In the teams they already have, a lot of talent has already emerged. With someone like Jürgen at the top, he has a lot of experience and has managed many clubs. It's great for the organisation," said the four-time world champion.

Jürgen Klopp's arrival at Red Bull has undoubtedly brought him closer to Formula 1. His role will be completely unrelated to motorsport, but who knows if one day the racing bug bites him and the German decides to try his luck in the top category of motorsport.
