Hours before the match against Brazil, Luis Díaz lit up social media with a video in which he revealed his all-time favorite team. Speaking with his father, Mane Díaz, on El Tiempo de Mane, the Colombia and Liverpool forward mentioned stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in his ideal squad.

"Luis Díaz shares his historic XI with me, a team full of legends who have left their mark on world football. Are you ready to meet the players who inspired your career?" Mané commented.

For goal, Díaz chose German Manuel Neuer . At full-back, he opted for Brazilians Dani Alves and Marcelo , while the center-back duo consisted of Spaniards Carles Puyol and Sergio Ramos .

In midfield, he selected Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Luka Modric, and Xavi Hernández . "I really liked that era of Barcelona," the winger explained.

Up front, he opted for Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar. "I chose them because they're the ones I grew up watching play. I'm sticking with my tastes, and that's what I prefer," he stated.

The comments were quick to come. Some fans agreed with his selection, while others highlighted the presence of several Barcelona figures and saw it as a possible nod to the Catalan club . Others disagreed and pointed out notable absences, such as Thierry Henry, Adriano, and Andrea Pirlo.
