Napoli are reportedly keen on bringing Federico Chiesa back to Serie A on loan, as the Italian forward continues his recovery from injury at Liverpool. Son of legendary Enrico Chiesa, the striker is still on Reds plans for the season.
Since his high-profile move from Juventus to Anfield last summer, Chiesa has struggled to find his feet due to persistent fitness issues. However, his potential remains undeniable, and Napoli boss Antonio Conte is believed to be a big admirer of the 27-year-old.
Conte is keen to bolster his attacking options and sees Chiesa as a perfect fit for his style of play. The Italian tactician is hoping to reunite with his compatriot and help him rediscover his best form.
However, Liverpool manager Arne Slot has insisted that Chiesa remains part of his plans. Despite the Italian’s injury struggles, Slot has expressed his confidence in the winger and believes he can make a significant contribution to the team.
"Federico is a talented player and we are working hard to get him back to full fitness," Slot said. "He has a lot of quality and I believe he can be a valuable asset to our squad."
With Chiesa's contract at Liverpool running until 2028, the Reds are in no rush to sell the player. However, a loan move could be beneficial for all parties involved, allowing Chiesa to gain regular first-team football and Napoli to strengthen their squad.
