With a three-point lead at the top of the table and two games in hand over their closest rivals, Arsenal, Liverpool are in a strong position to win their first league title since 2020. The Reds’ confidence will have been boosted by their 5-0 thrashing of West Ham last weekend.
Speaking to the press ahead of the match, Van Dijk said: "Every game for Liverpool is massive. We know the history of this club, and we know the expectations. We’re always aiming to win every game, no matter who the opponent is."
“We’re in a good moment, but we know that Manchester United will be a tough test. They’re a big team with a lot of quality players. But we’re ready for the challenge.”
The Dutchman has been a key figure in Liverpool’s success this season, and his leadership has been vital to the team’s strong start. Van Dijk has been almost ever-present in the Reds' defence, and his commanding performances have helped to solidify Liverpool's backline.
