Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Spanish left-back Miguel Gutiérrez from LaLiga side Girona. The Reds are keen on adding depth to their defensive options and see Gutiérrez as an ideal candidate to provide competition for incumbent first-choice left-back, Andy Robertson.
The interest in Gutiérrez is said to have come directly from Liverpool manager Arne Slot. The Dutchman is keen to bolster his squad and believes the young Spaniard has the potential to become a valuable asset to the club. Gutiérrez's ability to both defend and attack has caught the eye of the Liverpool coaching staff.
Liverpool's pursuit of Gutiérrez comes amid speculation surrounding the future of Andy Robertson. The Scotland captain has been linked with a move to the Middle East, with clubs from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates reportedly interested in his services. Should Robertson depart, Gutiérrez would be well-positioned to step into the starting XI.
A product of Real Madrid's youth academy, Gutiérrez has impressed since joining Girona. His performances have attracted the attention of several top European clubs, and Liverpool are now looking to secure his signature.
