One of Jürgen Klopp's favorite players over the last few years has been Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who arrived at Liverpool in 2017 at the express request of the German tactician and just one season later the team managed to win the Champions League with Ox being one of the most important players in Klopp's scheme.
When he arrived at Anfield, not many trusted him, because in addition to his past as an Arsenal player, there was the issue of his injuries, which for many slowed down what had been a very dizzying start to his career that had caught the attention of everyone in Europe. However, things happen for a reason and after Jürgen Klopp put his trust in him, Oxlade-Chamberlain responded with dedication and commitment to our Liverpool and became an important figure of the team that won every possible trophy at least once.
During his last years with Liverpool, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was paid £6.5 million per year, however it is undoubtedly that during the last season he lost a lot of prominence and went from being a very important player to be left on the bench in many games so Jürgen Klopp decided not to renew his contract this summer and he would leave as a free agent along with other teammates like James Milner and Roberto Firmino, which in the end happened.
Since then, Ox has been looking for a new team to continue his career and it seems that he has everything ready to join Besiktas of the Turkish Super League, a club with which he has been negotiating for a couple of weeks. The latest information on his signing is that it is about to be finalized as the player has already traveled to Turkey and only needs to undergo his medical exams to make his transfer official, according to journalist Paul Joyce.
According to several reports, Besiktas has as a priority the signing of Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain and would offer him to be the club's highest paid player. Currently the highest-paid player at the club is Dele Ali on £5.2 million a year, and the former Liverpool player is expected to earn at least close to the £6.5 million he earned at Anfield.
