The second game of the World Cup in Qatar pitted England against Iran, a match that did not look the most promising for England fans but the most significant as it was the debut of their national team, which led them to flood the streets around the World Cup venue proudly wearing the Three Lions jersey, while others did so in Premier League kit, with a few fans sporting the Liverpool crest on their chests.

The English fans were so keen to see their national team make their debut in the World Cup that hundreds of them queued for tickets, with the fans crowding the ticket booth to such an extent that the organisers were unable to sell so many tickets in such a short space of time, causing many of them to remain in line even when the whistle was blown and the ball was already rolling.

The role Trent Alexander Arnold should play against Iran

Although the stands for this match looked somewhat empty in comparison to yesterday's opening match between Qatar and Ecuador, large groups of England fans were evident in every corner of the Jalifa Stadium, with a few red Three Lions kits identifiable, but more were of Jurgen Klopp's team, making it clear that their love is shared between their country and their home team.

It is nothing new that many fans of the different teams going to a World Cup finals wear the jersey of their favourite team in their local league, especially if that team has some important representatives of the institution, as happened with the Reds who have Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold wearing the colours of England for this edition of Qatar 2022.

Ticket problems

The great fans that support Liverpool are present in every corner of the world without exception, causing among them a fantastic atmosphere to be united not only for a team but for an entire nation, leaving aside on this occasion the English Premier League shields to unite in a single objective which is to support their team in the World Cup that for them is just starting with a great score of 3-0 at the end of the first 45 minutes against Iran.
