Alexander Isak could join Liverpool next summer

Liverpool are said to be keen on the Swedish international Alexander Isak, who has been a revelation since joining the Magpies from Real Sociedad in 2022. Isak's impressive performances at St James' Park have not gone unnoticed, with the 24-year-old reportedly earning a hefty £6.2 million a year.

New Liverpool boss Arne Slot is believed to be a big admirer of Isak and sees him as the ideal candidate to lead the line at Anfield. With speculation surrounding the future of Mohamed Salah, who has been linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, Liverpool are keen to secure a high-quality replacement.

Isak's versatility and ability to play as a lone striker or as part of a front two make him an attractive proposition for Liverpool. The Swede has also shown a knack for scoring important goals, making him a valuable asset to any team.

However, any move for Isak is likely to be expensive, with Newcastle unlikely to want to lose one of their star players. The Magpies paid a significant fee to sign Isak from Real Sociedad and will be demanding a premium to sell him.

Liverpool will face stiff competition for Isak's signature, with several other top European clubs also said to be interested in the striker.
