Real Madrid has become a model team not only at an institutional level and in terms of sporting achievements, but also when it comes to signings. Although Florentino Pérez is remembered for a past of large outlays of money, for some seasons now the modus operandi of the White House has been reduced to two options: signing stars at zero cost or buying players before they exploit their full potential.
The first group includes emblems such as David Alaba, Antonio Rüdiger or Kylian Mbappé, who landed at the Santiago Bernabéu after their contracts ended. In the second, however, there are other stars such as Vinícius, Endrick or Rodrygo, all of them bought at a very young age when they were taking their first steps as professionals in Brazil. Now, on this occasion we will talk about a star who would arrive via the first incorporation strategy.
This is Trent Alexander-Arnold. The outstanding Liverpool full-back has been, for years, one of the best in his position. However, he has a contract with the Reds until June 30, 2025 and there is no news of a renewal, a scenario that would allow him to negotiate with any team from January 1. In this context, the newspaper Marca already confirms that the Briton gave Real Madrid the "yes" to wear the white shirt once the current season ends.
Alexander-Arnold has a cost of 75 million euros according to the Transfermarkt portal and is a pillar in Arne Slot's Liverpool, the undisputed leader of the Premier League. However, at 26 years old he seems to have made the decision to take another leap in his career and in Madrid they already welcome him with open arms to give fresh air to a sector of the defense that has belonged to Daniel Carvajal, emblem of the team who at 32 years old is recovering from a serious injury.
Same scenario for Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah
Trent is not the only player that Liverpool could lose at zero cost. And two other stars such as Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are in the same contractual situation. At the moment, neither of these two are on Real Madrid's radar, but it is a fact that their arrival at other teams would also cause a stir in the transfer market.
