Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker has expressed surprise at the rapid transformation of Liverpool under the management of Arne Slot. In an interview with British newspaper The Guardian, the goalkeeper compared the current squad to the Premier League-winning team of 2019/20, highlighting the differences between the two sides.
"It's two different times," Alisson said. "Some players are still here, but we have a slightly different style now, with more possession. Before it was a lot of transition and intensity. We don't need to compare ourselves to the times of the past."
The Brazilian goalkeeper also commented on Arne Slot's quick adaptation to the club, something that surprised many: "Everyone thought it would be a tough job to replace Jürgen Klopp, but Arne Slot arrived and implemented his ideas very quickly. The team is responding well and we are growing with every game."
Alisson's statement shows that Liverpool is at a new moment in its history. The departure of Jürgen Klopp and the arrival of Arne Slot marked the beginning of a new cycle, with a different playing style and a new identity.
Liverpool fans hope that the team will continue to evolve under Slot's management and can win new titles in the coming seasons. Alisson, in turn, will continue to be one of the team's pillars and will play a key role in this new era.
