Liverpool are going through a truly difficult season in terms of results and form

Liverpool are going through a really complicated season in terms of results and feelings, being probably the worst year for the club since Jürgen Klopp landed at Anfield to take charge of the team, and as a result, players like Mohamed Salah are doubting what to do with their professional future. The Egyptian striker has become Nasser Al-Khelaïfi's priority to fill the void that Leo Messi will presumably leave at the end of the season, as the Argentine seems less and less convinced of renewing his contract with the French club.

This, obviously, is already a cause of great concern for Klopp who, although he has given Mo Salah the absolute leadership of the team, knows that PSG's attempt to convince the African player to leave Liverpool next summer could be definitive. That is why, with no time for regrets, the German coach has left the name of Nico Williams in the offices of the English club to keep a close eye on the 20-year-old with an eye on the 2023 summer transfer window.

According to a report leaked by BeSoccer, the big name player used by Luis Enrique during his final months in charge of 'La Roja' has been tipped as a potential replacement for the aforementioned Salah.

Although the performances of the current Athletic Club de Bilbao player have not been as gratifying as during the first months of the season, having registered 6 goals and 6 assists so far between the league championship and the Copa del Rey, Klopp has his eye on signing him to make up for the possible departure of Salah, an interest that already originated last summer and that, with the threat of Al-Khelaïfi for 'La Pulga', has increased exponentially in the last few days.
