Bajcetic has played two games this season and has been out since September due to a "growth problem" of which no further details have been given, while Thiago suffered a hip injury in April 2023 and has not played a game since, with several relapses, most recently after playing a few minutes a few weeks ago against Arsenal.

"We don't have a return date for him," Jürgen Klopp told a press conference on Tuesday. "I don't know if he will play more this season. There are things he has to do, but it's not a short-term injury. He will not train for the next two weeks."
The German said of Bajcetic he is working on getting fit again, but has not yet been given the green light by doctors to be able to train normally. "No one is holding him back, so there must be a good reason why he hasn't been cleared," Klopp added.

After the final, the option to replace Klopp who is close to signing, is not Xabi
Bajcetic and Thiago are two of the many players Liverpool have in the infirmary at the moment. The Spaniards will miss Wednesday's FA Cup fifth-round match along with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Gravenberch, Alisson Becker, Joel Matip, Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo. Mohamed Salah, Darwin Núñez and Dominik Szoboszlai are doubtful.
Bajcetic is a player who has generated great uncertainty for Jurgen Klopp as he is not sure why he is not able to play: “I had lunch here & saw him training. I thought…why is he not playing? He’s gaining fitness now…running around…but didn’t get the green light yet. He’s pain free which is the most important thing. Bone looks good.”
