Marco Verratti had been linked with Liverpool in recent days

Our Liverpool continues its search for new signings, especially for new midfielders, as that is the priority for Jürgen Klopp ahead of the new season. In that sense, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti had been linked with the Reds due to Klopp's alleged interest in bringing him to Anfield, however it seems that will not happen.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 30-year-old Italian midfielder has already agreed a deal with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal to join them on a three-year contract, which would close the door on any possibility of his arrival at Anfield.

The prestigious journalist assured that now everything depends on the PSG board being able to reach an agreement with the Saudi club that wants Verratti, although it looks like a very complicated negotiation between both parties since Al-Hilal's initial offer would be 30 million euros, an amount that the Parisian board has no intention of accepting, but which is expected to improve significantly in the coming days.

Undoubtedly the Saudi Pro League clubs continue to break into the European football transfer market and have already managed to take big stars to their league, and it seems that Verratti will be the next to leave. In that sense, it has been rumored that the Italian will receive a huge salary if his arrival at Al-Hilal finally materializes.

How much will Marco Verratti earn at Al-Hilal?

Marco Verratti is currently earning £12.3 million per year at PSG, which would be the third highest salary at Liverpool behind only Salah and van Dijk. However, considering what other teams have paid other players, it is estimated that Verratti could earn at least double that. Al-Hilal's intentions to sign the Italian are such that journalist Ramon Alvarez claimed that the Saudi club's entourage that traveled to Paris was going with the intention of convincing Verrati and not Mbappé as previously reported.
