As if it were a soap opera that does not want to say goodbye to the screen, rumours of Kylian Mbappé's departure from PSG have once again flourished. It seemed that after the renewal in the last transfer window this situation would be buried, however French and Spanish media reported the dissatisfaction of the striker with the Parisian club. All this comes at the worst possible time: the World Cup is just over a month away, with the French defending the trophy they won at Russia 2018.

The request for his departure is not due to sporting frustration, as PSG are doing very well in Ligue 1 (undefeated leader after 10 games) and also in the Champions League (after the first three games, they are in first place). Personally, he has 11 goals to his name, eight of them in the French championship.

Pre-season blunder to blame for Liverpool's current crisis

What was reported by French media outlet RMC was later confirmed by MARCA: Kylian Mbappé wants to leave the club in the next transfer window. If he gets his wish, the striker would be playing his last games for the Parisians and would leave the team in the middle of the Champions League after their participation in Qatar 2022.

The reason? "Mbappé considers that PSG have betrayed him," the aforementioned sources highlight. The anger is with the sporting management, which apparently did not deliver what was promised in the renewal until 2024. On the day of the announcement, the striker posed with a printed shirt that read 2025, although that would be an optional extra year, as L'Equipe reported months ago.

Liverpool is the most latent option

The paths of Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid have yet to cross, but the football world believes they will. However, PSG's owners want nothing to do with selling their jewel to Merengue. Should they agree to an exit, the Casa Blanca would not be an option although the Frenchman would want to join Madrid.  Other options are Barcelona and Liverpool, who have already shown interest in the striker, who turns 24 on 20 December.
