Liverpool face Chelsea on Saturday in a vital league game for both sides

Liverpool face Chelsea on Saturday in a vital league game for both sides. Both teams are far from the European places and a slip up could leave them almost without options to qualify for the next edition of the Champions League, which would mean a multimillion dollar budget cut and the impossibility of maintaining their big squads.

For this match the Reds have some important absentees such as Darwin Núñez, who although he is out of favour, there are high hopes for him. Luis Díaz, Diego Jota and Van Dijk will also be absent, leaving Klopp with few alternatives for the game against the Blues.

Real Madrid are afraid, before facing Liverpool they have these serious problems

ALISSON- is a real lifeline, without him, Liverpool would be in an even lower position. He won't be able to miss the game. ALEXANDER-ARNOLD- has been the big disappointment of the season. He is still at an abysmal level and Liverpool are considering signing a replacement. JOEL MATIP- will be chosen to replace Van Dijk, and although the Dutchman is very important, Matip has proven to compete very well. IBRAHIMA KONATÉ- his level has dropped a lot, but he is expected to return to last season's level. ANDREW ROBERTSON- is very important and has been one of the few salvageable players at Liverpool this season.

Firmino returns

FABINHO- the Brazilian midfielder has lost his ability to win balls back and Liverpool are noticing it, against Chelsea he must return to being that octopus that allows the Reds to counter attack. THIAGO- if he manages to be regular and not get injured, Liverpool will be at the top again, his quality is unique. HENDERSON- the years weigh on him, but at the moment Liverpool need his leadership to get back to competing at the best level. FIRMINO- has been relegated to a very secondary role, no longer that great partner for Salah, but with Nunez out, Klopp could give him another chance. MOHAMED SALAH- Liverpool's good games usually come after flashes of genius from the Egyptian. We'll see if he's inspired or not. GAKPO - Klopp is likely to try the Dutchman out wide after his lack of impact as a centre-forward in the previous game.
