As MARCA reported on Tuesday, Kylian Mbappé not only wants to leave PSG as soon as possible, but already tried to do so in July. The 2018 World Cup winner's representatives held several talks with the Parc des Princes management. From the offices, the goodbye was contemplated in a very 'peculiar' way: the sale was set at 400 million euros and the alternative of Real Madrid was roundly closed.
With this scenario, the name of Liverpool appeared on the table. The footballer himself had acknowledged in May, in his interview with this newspaper after the act of his extension with PSG, that the English had been there, attentive, always the third in discord. However, for various reasons, Mbappé and his advisers preferred not to pursue this option.

This was conveyed to the two main actors in the talks, Nasser Al Khelaifi and Antero Henrique. The relationship with both of them, and by extension with the French club, is worse than ever. A point of no return has been reached because it is considered that what was agreed in terms of sporting factors has not been fulfilled. Mbappé feels he is a victim of these false promises and political pressures and is simply looking to play football in a suitable environment, without looking at the money he would pay back if it would free him up.
Collateral damage in this soap opera starring the 2018 World Cup winner is Luis Campos. The Portuguese had an agreement with Real Madrid, who he suddenly asked for permission through Florentino Pérez to accept PSG's proposal. The president, tempering in the midst of disaster, gave the green light. At the top, however, adding the loss of Campos was taken as a double disappointment.
Campos, widely recognised in the industry and who spoke about the case on Tuesday, ended up landing in Paris as the project's strong man. Considered Mbappé's sporting father, he was in charge of choosing the new coach, Galtier, a figure of his utmost confidence who was not convincing elsewhere at PSG. The limitations when it comes to working and the friction, among others, with Antero, have created an unlivable climate at PSG, with a dressing room that is also fractured and in which the ways of Messi, with Neymar as his main ally, are not liked by a sector with weight in the dressing room. The logical thing, then, would be for Campos to follow Mbappé's path, now uncertain, if he leaves PSG.
