Darwin Nunez was sent off for assault in Liverpool vs Crystal Palace.

Darwin Núñez was trying to get Liverpool's equaliser against Crystal Palace at Anfield, but he let himself get carried away by the rival's provocation and complicated his team, which was reduced to 10 men. In the 57′ minute, during a dangerous play, Joachim Andersen started to bother the Uruguayan player and pushed him. Instantly, the recent signing of the squad led by Jurgen Kloop headbutted him.

The Eagles player fell to the turf and the referee saw the action. Nunez was instantly shown the red card, but the sending-off was no excuse as after four minutes Liverpool found parity through Luis Diaz's goal.

Liverpool's start to the campaign had not been the best, although the team defeated Manchester City 3-1 and won the Community Shield title, the good footballing performance was not reflected in the start of the Premier League, which sparked doubts among fans after the draw against Fulham.

During that game, Jürgen Klopp's side struggled to get out of pressure and failed to string passes together to do any damage. Roberto Firmino, who started the game, could not stand out much and things changed with the introduction of Darwin Núñez.

The Uruguayan generated more direct play for the Reds and played a part in both of his side's goals, scoring the first and assisting Mohamed Salah for the second. Due to his positive impact on his English Championship debut, the striker started against Crystal Palace.

But it was a tough, tough game, Crystal Palace performed much better on matchday two than they did against Arsenal, and Patrick Vieira's side came away with the result. Although the debut against Arsenal was not the most auspicious, the French coach's side achieved the feat at Anfield.
