Liverpool's intentions for the next transfer window seem to be quite clear, since the end of the season and after the departure of several players, Jürgen Klopp announced to the board that the priority would be to bring in young midfielders.
The arrival of Alexis Mac Allister at Anfield was only the first step in the restructuring of the team, as Klopp and his coaching staff have in mind several players who could arrive at Anfield this summer and one of them is Képhren Thuram, son of French legend Lilian Thuram, who currently plays for Nice in Ligue 1.
For several months now, Képhren Thuram has been one of Klopp's main targets, and following the arrival of Mac Allister, the German tactician has reportedly made him the team's top priority. In that sense, the player and his entourage are aware of the interest of the Reds and even Lilian Thuram himself would have advised his son to accept the proposal of the Merseyside team.
Although there is still nothing official, several reports suggest that Nice would be willing to sell Thuram to Liverpool for a figure close to 40 million euros, a sum that the Anfield board would be willing to pay, so everything indicates that it would be a matter of days to finalize his arrival. In addition, if he finally joins Klopp's squad, he will see familiar faces such as his national teammate Ibrahima Konate.
Liverpool central defender Ibrahima Konate has said that he would be very happy if Képhren Thuram finally joins the Reds this summer, and assured that if so he would do everything in his power to help him progress. “I would be very happy if he came to Liverpool, I would take him under my wing and I would do everything to make him progress and become the player he wants to become”.
