Salah mocks De Bruyne's World Cup failure, gesture goes round the world

The 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup is leaving us with unforgettable matches that are turning the football orb upside down. The most recent result was a ridiculous display by a team that had labelled itself as a title contender. Belgium were beaten on Matchday 2 of Group F by underdog Morocco, who made the Red's Devil's the laughing stock of the world with two goals.

The mockery and social media taunts were not long in coming, with Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne's side being compared to the team of our superstar Mohamed Salah, as in the 2021 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, Egypt beat - and showcased - Morocco in the quarter-finals of the tournament, with Salah getting on the scoresheet.

When Belgium needed millionaire signing De Bruyne the most, he failed to show up and abandoned his team. In an interview ahead of the World Cup in Qatar, he revealed to The Guardian that they have no chance. "Winning the World Cup in Qatar? We have no chance, we are too old. Our chance was in 2018. We have lost key players and the new ones are not that good," he said.

Salah and the whole world will watch next Thursday's Group F decider, with Belgium's national team taking on world runners-up Croatia, where they will play for a place in the last 16, while at the other end, Morocco's win over Canada would qualify the Africans, leaving only one place for the Europeans.
