Liverpool still seem to be very active in the summer transfer market

Everything seems to indicate that at the end of this transfer window our Liverpool will have at least one more reinforcement in addition to the three they have already managed to finalize, because it is no secret that in the eyes of Jürgen Klopp the squad is not yet complete and it is known that the Reds are one of the most active teams at this stage of the transfer market.

The priority seems to be the same as when the summer began and even before the end of last season, and that is to sign midfielders, particularly defensive midfielders, as it was known that several players in that position would leave the team as free agents, however the unexpected departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have further increased that need.

That is why throughout the summer our Liverpool have been linked with rumors of possible players who could arrive at Anfield ahead of the 2023-2024 season. Such rumors have been increasing as the transfer window has progressed, as instead of players being discarded to focus on one or the other potential target, names continue to emerge.

The three players currently most talked about to arrive at Anfield are André Trindade, Cheick Doucouré and Ryan Gravenberch, as it has even been reported that the Anfield board have already entered into negotiations with the clubs of each of these players to find out the possible terms of a transfer. However, in the last few hours a new name has emerged that could be a new target for Jürgen Klopp.

Klopp's new target

According to journalist François Plateau, the Liverpool board have reportedly contacted the representatives of 21-year-old Dutch defensive midfielder Mats Wieffer, who belongs to reigning Eredivisie champions Feyenoord. Wieffer is currently valued at €15 million according to Transfermarkt.
