The Reds are undergoing a restructuring

Liverpool thrashed Leicester 4-0 in a friendly in preparation for the start of the Premier League in August. Klopp's team was superior, rotated the team and had Luis Diaz coming off the bench to play the last 45 minutes. The Reds closed out a great first half, with Alexis Mac Allister starting, by winning 3-0. Darwin Nunez opened the scoring after 30 minutes, while Bobby Clark and Diogo Jota were responsible for the other goals, which came within eight minutes of each other.

In the second half, Luis Diaz came on for Diogo Jota, and it was Ben Doak who scored the fourth goal to seal the game. The Reds had a perfect first half in which they scored three goals. Uruguay's Darwin Nunez opened the scoring after 29 minutes. The midfielder picked up a rebound from Diogo Jota's shot to score his fourth goal of the pre-season.

The second came after 35 minutes. Salah set up Bobby Clark for the youngster, who struck with a right-footed finish to extend the lead. The 3-0 lead came from Portugal's Jota. Salah added his second assist with a perfect cross that was deflected in by Diogo Jota, who headed home the third in the 38th minute. In the second half Luis Diaz came on in a massive rotation that Klopp employed: he changed all eleven players. The youngster, as always, was deployed on the left flank, although he also had a chance to score through the centre. The Reds put the game beyond doubt in the 63rd minute when Doak headed home from a corner.

<strong>The leaders</strong>

After the game it was clear that Jürgen Klopp has identified six new leaders in the squad, headed by Virgin Van Dijk, who could be the new captain, as well as Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander Arnold, Andy Robertson, Alisson and, if he does not leave, the Spaniard Thiago Alcántara.
