Robertson - there is external pressure on Darwin Nunez over his transfer fee
They ran out 5-0 winners as Darwin Nunez got off the mark for his new club, scoring four times in a second half blitz.
After beating Crystal Palace in Singapore and losing 4-0 to Manchester United in Bangkok, the Merseyside club returned to Europe to face Leipzig, and now will face Red Bull counterparts Salzburg in Austria. While Nunez will take the headlines from Thursday night following his flurry of goals, teenager and fellow new signing Carvalho impressed the Reds’ faithful.
The 19-year-old midfielder was introduced in place of Luis Diaz at the break, and operated from the left-hand side. His constant desire to drive at defenders was rewarded when he set up Nunez for his fourth goal of the night.
Liverpool legend Phil Thompson was raving about the former Fulham man in his punditry for LCTV after the final whistle. “Fabio Carvalho is going to be a star,” said Thompson. “There’s something about him when he gets the ball. His awareness on the pitch is nothing short of sensational.”
