Liverpool will be hoping for a better performance than against Fulham with a big result against Crystal Palace.

Former Reds player Mark Lawrenson gave his prediction for Liverpool's first home game of the season against Crystal Palace on Monday: "I think Palace were a bit unlucky against Arsenal. They had chances at 1-0 down that they should have taken".

"Palace are a good team. Patrick Vieira has done a good job there. Liverpool were sluggish against Fulham, but they've had another week of hard training, so I'll give Liverpool 2-0." It won't be an easy game against Patrick Vieira's side, so Jurgen Klopp will be sure to prepare his players for a tough contest at Anfield.

A tricky game

The former Arsenal captain enjoyed an impressive first season with the Eagles last term, and they will be looking to bounce back from their opening day defeat to the Gunners. Considering Mohamed Salah has been involved in 11 goals in his last 10 games against Palace, we can expect the Egyptian king to score again.

Crystal Palace have lost 10 consecutive games against Liverpool, but these stats mean little in the heat of a battle as Jurgen Klopp hopes injuries to the squad won't have too much of an impact. We will have to wait, but there is no doubt the boys will be up for the challenge when it comes.

The line-up dilemma lies up front: Klopp will have to choose whether Darwin Nunez, who has had two very good last two games for the team, starts against Crystal Palace, or whether Firmino gets the confidence to start again, even if the draw against Fulham left a lot to be desired.
