As reported by 'The Sun', Liverpool officials are working to reach an agreement with Naby Keïta to extend his contract.

Liverpool are clear about their priorities. One of them is the renewal of player Naby Keïta, whose contract expires in June 2023. The link between club and player enters its last season. PSG have been keeping a close eye on him since the start of this transfer window.

However, no offer has yet been made, as the Parisian club has decided to postpone its bid for the Liverpool midfielder after Renato Sanches' reinforcement in midfield.

The objective of the club chaired by Tom Werner is to extend the long-term contract renewal as soon as possible, as they are aware of the interest of the French League champion. They fear that, in the next winter market window and taking advantage of the fact that his contract expires in a few months, they will take him to the Parc des Princes.

Jürgen Klopp has been very clear for quite some time now that the renewal of Naby Keita is of paramount importance and that he is an extremely important asset for the squad.

Klopp holds Keita on a high horse

At the beginning of January, without going any further, he commented: "Which team wouldn't miss Mané, Salah and Keita". In these statements, the German put the Guinea international alongside two players who are considered among the best strikers in the world, with Mané now far from Anfield.
