Liverpool go into the international break unbeaten and just two points behind Manchester City

Our Liverpool have confirmed their good momentum after beating Aston Villa 2 goals to 0 at Anfield, in what was the fourth game of the 2023-2024 Premier League season and which was also the Reds' last game before the international break. The players showed a good level and dominated their opponents from start to finish to get the three points and the second win of the campaign at Anfield.

The first goal of the match was scored by Dominik Szoboszlai in the third minute of the first half, after the Hungarian midfielder took advantage of a good cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold from a corner kick to score his first official goal in a Reds shirt. It was Szoboszlai's goal that set Liverpool on their way to victory.

Nearly twenty minutes later, Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez, who started the game after his tremendous performance last week against Newcastle, set up the second goal of the match when he headed the ball into the Aston Villa box. However, his shot came very close to becoming a goal as it hit the post, causing Matty Cash to score in his own goal.

In the second half, Mohamed Salah came on in the 55th minute to increase Liverpool's lead with a fine finish from a corner kick. This goal was another record for the Pharaoh, as he has now scored in 150 different games for the club.
