Red's captain was awarded an MBE due to services to charity

Jordan Henderson is a proper englishman. He is captain of the biggest team in the Premier League, part of England's national team, and a role model both inside and outside the pitch. He went to Buckingham Palace to collect his MBE recognition.

During the pandemic that hit the entire world, Henderson was the leader of an organisation for players called ‘Players Together’ that helped with donations to help winning the battle against COVID-19.

Well deserved awards

Thanks to his work and services, he was named the NHS Charities Together Champion alongside becoming the ambassador of the organisation. However, the biggest recognition came with being named a Member of the Order of the British Empire.

Liverpool captain spoke about this and said this: “There are many privileges that come from playing professional football but having a platform to promote a charitable cause such as Players Together and NHS Charities Together is as big a privilege as any. (…) “But the true heroes are the NHS staff; they put themselves in harm’s way to serve and protect us."
