The 2023-2024 season is getting closer and Liverpool is preparing to reverse the failure of the last campaign in which we were out of the next edition of the Champions League. That is why Jürgen Klopp would have established, since the end of last season, that the team needs to rebuild, for which it would be necessary to make several signings this summer, and although the board has already signed two new players, the German tactician still wants to incorporate more players.
According to several reports, Klopp's priority would be to find a couple more midfielders, in addition to the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, who are already training with their new teammates at Liverpool's facilities. In addition, the other priority for the German tactician would be the arrival of a central defender who can help Virgil van Dijk in a better way, as last season the team was the worst defense in the top 5 of the Premier League.
In that sense, to reinforce the defense, Jürgen Klopp would have had in mind several candidates, but in recent weeks he has focused all his attention on the 20-year-old Chelsea player, Levi Colwill, as he would consider that the young player could have a great future at Anfield, however the two occasions on which they have contacted the Chelsea board, they have been told that Colwill is not for sale.
But this seems unlikely to stop Klopp, as the Liverpool boss knows that the only way the Blues could negotiate Colwill's exit is if the player shows any real indication of wanting to leave the club, as happened with Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount. Levi Colwill is currently priced at €35 million, but considering how important he seems to be to Mauricio Pochettino, his price could rise quite a bit higher than that.
According to journalist Neil Jones, Liverpool would be waiting for Levi Colwill to make the gesture that would force Chelsea into negotiations and the Anfield board believe the player would be happy to play for the Reds. In addition, he assured that paying a large amount of money "would not be a issue for Liverpool".
