Liverpool are reportedly ready to fight for the 19-year-old's signature against Arsenal after Mikel Arteta's side stepped up their own "interest" earlier this week, which could force a similar situation to when Tottenham approached Luis Diaz in January. Spanish journalist Xavi Jorquera Márquez reported that both Premier League sides had a €40 million bid for Yeremy Pino.

Pino had a great season with Villarreal, scoring six goals - four of them in a match against Espanyol in February - and providing four assists in 31 league games. This helped the Spanish side reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they were eliminated by Liverpool.

£33.8million

Both English clubs have tabled bids of around £33.8 million, which is less than the youngster's release clause of £67.5 million and a far cry from Villarreal's valuation, which appears to be €60 million (around £51 million).

The Spanish side's financial situation, which appears to be the same situation at all LaLiga sides, means they are open to selling any asset at the right price, but Pino is one of the brightest talents to come through the academy and those in charge are well aware of his value.

Moreover, they say Villarreal is still the best place for him to develop and, at just 19, he is in no rush to make the jump to one of Europe's elite clubs. Whether Liverpool decide on Pino now or in the future remains to be seen, but the Spaniard fits the profile of Jürgen Klopp's latest additions as he continues to try to rebalance an ageing squad.
