Klopp with a new need

Klopp with a new need

With just two games gone in this new Premier League season, Liverpool's injury problems have begun to emerge, as in addition to having Thiago Alcantara out since pre-season, now Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate have joined the list of injuries that plagued them so much last season, and now more than ever Klopp has to look to the transfer market for a back-up to fill the gaps in the squad, especially in defence.

Although Lucho Diaz and Konate are not expected to be out for long, the Reds can now take advantage of the end of the transfer window to bid for one last defensive player, and although Andre Trindade is expected to be the latest addition to the Reds' squad, Andrea Cambiaso has been mentioned as the latest interest from Merseyside.

It seems that neither Joe Gomez or Joel Matip are in the German manager's favour, and although he will have to use one of these two players this weekend against Newcastle, there is talk that Klopp could even surprise with a different line-up where Wataru Endo shines in his secondary position of central defence.

Reds with complications

With two notable absentees for Sunday, Newcastle have a real chance to break the Reds' hegemony, and defeat would be a blow to a Liverpool side looking for an early lead at the top of the table, which today has surprises with West Ham momentarily at the top.
