Liverpool had a tough first half in their matchday 20 clash with Brighton

Liverpool had a tough first half in their matchday 20 clash with Brighton. The German coach Jurgen Klopp's side were unable to create any dangerous chances and suffered the onslaught of the Seagulls who came close to scoring, but the good performance of the Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson prevented them from doing so.

As in recent matches, the Reds have struggled to create danger. In addition, the defence struggled to contain the home side's onslaught. As a result, Klopp was furious on the sideline, unable to turn the team's fortunes around during the first 45 minutes.

The start of the year 2023 for England's Liverpool was not the best in the Premier League. Jürgen Klopp's side suffered their first defeat of the season with a crushing loss to Brentford. The result put the Reds in seventh place in the league, and took them a step away from the Champions League places.

As if that wasn't enough, in the FA Cup, the Anfield side were held to a draw in midweek against Wolves. The parity in this duel means that the key will have to be repeated in the next few days to determine who will qualify for the next round. Against this backdrop, many critics have rained down from the English press against the squad and coaching staff led by Klopp, as the team has become accustomed to fighting for the top places in the league over the last few years and the current situation has not made the fans very happy.
