The transfer market is in full swing and the rumours are still swirling. This time, Liverpool have entered the scene and have emerged as strong candidates to sign Bayern Munich right-back Benjamin Pavard. According to German journalist Christian Falk, there have already been meetings between the English club and the French player.

Pavard, 27, wants to leave Bayern Munich because of his desire to play as a centre-back, and Liverpool have presented themselves as an attractive option for him. His current contract with the German club runs out in the summer of 2024 and he has no intention of renewing it, which has opened the door for him to leave in this summer transfer window. Bayern Munich have set an asking price of 30 million euros for the French defender, and Liverpool look set to enter the bidding for his services. Pavard had an outstanding season, scoring seven goals and dishing out one assist in 43 appearances.

Liverpool are looking to bolster their defensive rotation ahead of next season as they aim to return to Premier League title contention after a difficult campaign. Manager Jürgen Klopp sees Pavard as a versatile defender who could bring added quality and versatility to the Reds.

New full-back

Pavard's possible arrival at Liverpool would create healthy competition in defence, giving Klopp more tactical options and strengthening the squad for the challenges ahead. In addition, his international experience and ability to adapt to different positions in the defensive line are aspects that seduce the English club. We will have to follow closely the development of this negotiation, as other clubs could also show interest in the French full-back. However, Liverpool have made it clear that they are willing to enter the bidding for Pavard and make an effort to bring him into their ranks.
