Klopp's side are desperate to bolster their squad with midfielders. Liverpool believe a midfield shake-up is essential to get them back into contention for the Premiership. The number one target was Bellingham, but it seems that the Englishman, right now, would prefer the option of playing for Real Madrid instead of going to his country, so the Reds are looking for other options and it seems that they have already found them.
The first and the most expensive is Enzo Fernandez. From England, it seems that the player and the club have already reached an agreement on personal terms, but now they have to reach an agreement with Benfica. According to Portuguese newspaper Record, the Lisbon club have already rejected an offer of 100 million and are referring to his 120 million clause.

The second in contention would be another of the most outstanding midfielders in the World Cup, Amrabat. The Moroccan plays for Fiorentina and would be a much more affordable signing than the Argentinian. According to the British newspaper Daily Express, Liverpool are thinking of making an initial bid in the winter transfer window for around 40 million euros.
The midfielder's contract expires in 2024 and Fiorentina would not have much difficulty in selling their player, as long as the offer is in the region of 50 million euros. The former Liverpool legend, speaking to SkySport, says the English side need 250 million to return to the top of English football:
"There is no doubt that Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool's owners that he needs between 230-280 million euros to spend in the summer. That sounds like an outrageous figure, but that's what United and Chelsea spent last summer. These are the figures that rivals are spending. I think he needs that now. I don't think FSG have those funds at the moment and I think that's why they are looking for investment to help them," the Englishman said.
