After last weekend's painful defeat to Brighton last weekend Liverpool took to the Molineux stadium

After last weekend's painful defeat to Brighton, Liverpool took to the Molineux Stadium to face Wolverhampton in Round 22 of the Premier League. The most striking thing about the start of the game was that German manager Jürgen Klopps left Fabinho out of the squad due to under-performance.

The game started like a nightmare for the Reds as they went two-nil down in less than 15 minutes. First came an own goal from Joel Matip and then veteran defender Craig Dawson took advantage of Liverpool's defensive disaster.

He was on the verge of leaving, but this legend's show of love for Liverpool before the game against Wolverhampton

It is worth remembering that Liverpool have not won in the Premier League so far in 2023. Their last league win dates back to 30 December when they beat Leicester 2-1 at Anfield. Their only win this year came in the FA Cup rematch with a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton.

Matip to continue in the starting line-up

Despite the Cameroonian defender's poor performance against Wolves, Jürgen Klopp will keep him in the starting line-up in defence due to injuries. Virgil van Dijk is still recovering from a muscle problem and recently Ibrahima Konate was also sidelined due to muscular problems.
