Klopp has had enough of Liverpool's worst player, clears him for 15 million

Klopp had plenty of time to work out which elements should continue

Contrary to what he expected with his chance to be a starter due to Virgil van Dijk's injury, German defender Joel Matip has been the victim of countless criticisms in recent games for Liverpool, causing his intermittent level of play that the institution itself is seriously thinking about accepting all kinds of proposals in order to get him out of the institution as soon as possible.

The only redeemable aspect of the crisis that the red team of Merseyside is going through today could be that Klopp had enough time to know which elements should continue for the next campaign, being Matip put to the test in a very dark beginning of 2023 where only a win in the FA Cup from which they were already eliminated has been the best result obtained, although for his bad luck even in that victory against Wolves he could not see any activity as he remained on the substitutes' bench.

Although Joel Matip is not at the top of Klopp and his people's list of priority departures for the upcoming summer transfer window, there is talk that the German could leave Anfield quickly as his exit is valued at around £15m, a price that would make it easier for him to find a move to a team that trusts his abilities in the attacking third of the pitch.

Matip close to leaving

While it is true that Matip could leave Anfield for the upcoming summer transfer window, the Reds are looking to gain from his departure some financial retribution as he still has an 18-month contract in place, given the current situation with midfielder Naby Keita, who is set to leave Liverpool on a free transfer, meaning a waste of money on a player who has not even been a regular in the starting line-up.
