The Red's are starting to burn their cards ahead of the post-World Cup Qatar 2022 transfer window

Liverpool's goal-scoring ability has been dwindling as the Premier League rounds have gone by. Gone are the days of that historic 9-0 win over Bournemouth on Matchday 4, since when the Reds have struggled to score against the opposition, and consequently win games. The club currently sits in 8th place, with 19 points and a game in hand to finish the first round.

Last weekend the Merseyside side halted a run of consecutive EPL defeats by beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in London, and recently beat Derby Country on penalties after a goalless draw in normal time to book a place in the last 16 of the EFL Cup. This lack of goals is a concern for the Liverpool board, who are reportedly giving Klopp an "open chequebook" to bolster their attack, following injuries to Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.

Reports have emerged from Denmark that Klopp is keen on FC Midtjylland rookie star Gustav Tang Isaksen, who at 21 years of age has impressed and excelled in the Danish league as a regular in the Bulls' attack. The Midtjylland youth product is a national U-21 international and, according to local press, one of the Nordic country's most promising youngsters. Isaksen has eight goals to his name this season, including a goal against Lazio in the UEFA Europa League.

According to reports, Isaksen is a quick, intelligent and sacrificial player, and these qualities would certainly fit perfectly in the scheme of our coach Jürgen Klopp, who according to another report from England, the German has already asked for him to arrive at Anfield in January, with one of the club's scouts revealing that FC Midtjylland would not release the rising superstar for less than 20 million euros.

Isaksen rose to fame for his enormous participation in the European continental tournament, where in this UEL Group Stage, he accumulated three goals, having as "clients" the Italian capital, where he scored twice, both in Rome and in Herning. He was also present at home in the two-goal draw when his club hosted Dutch side Feyernoord, a result that curiously left the four teams involved in Group F with the same number of points, but the Toros qualified for the Playoffs on goal difference.
