Oakley Cannonier, an 18-year-old striker, has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool. He initially joined the Reds as a 12-year-old player from his hometown team Leeds United. The player signed his first professional contract on Merseyside in July 2021 and has spent the last two seasons in Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's Under-18 side.
Cannonier finished as the Academy's top scorer with 28 goals in the Under-18 Premier League North. So now, on Jurgen Klopp's orders, he has now agreed new terms with the club, as a step up to Barry Lewtas' U21 squad for the new season.
Harvey Elliot was another youngster who recently signed his long-term contract with Liverpool. Harvey Elliot, 19, signed his new contract at the AXA Training Centre.
He said, "It's always nice to know that I'm going to be here for many more years it's always a great thing being my boyhood club and there's nothing in this world that makes me happier and this world that makes me happier and more excited than that."
The No19 arrived in Jürgen Klopp's first team last season after an impressive loan spell at Blackburn Rovers in the 2020-21 season. After signing new terms with Liverpool in July 2021, Elliott started three of the first four Premier League games of the campaign before suffering a serious ankle injury against Leeds United in September.
