Paris Saint-Germain wants to expand its influence outside France. Qatar Sports Investment (QSI), owner of the Parisian club, is looking to buy Tottenham. CBS Sports explained that a first meeting has already taken place between Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, PSG president and QSI executive, and Daniel Levy, executive chairman of the London club.

This is not the first time QSI has tried to take over an English club. Leeds United have already turned down any offer, and now they are going to try Tottenham, after a first contact. The possible purchase of the London club does not mean that QSI will stop investing in PSG. In fact, Al-Khelaïfi assured that he still has "many things to do" at the Parisian club.

Qatar not only owns the entire shareholding of the French club, but also 23% of Sporting Braga. Tottenham would thus be its third investment. The intention is to copy the model of the City Football Group, with a model based on the purchase of clubs around the world that serve as subsidiaries of their parent company, Manchester City.

The City Football Group manages Manchester City, New York City, Melbourne City, Yokohama Marinos, Montevideo City Torque, Girona, Sichuan Jiuniu, Mumbai City, Lommek, Troyes, Palermo and Bolivar.

Klopp could make signings

If the sale goes through, German coach Jurgen Klopp stands to gain the most from the deal, as he would receive a major financial injection and be able to bring in the signings he has been looking for for weeks. The most obvious case is that of Jude Bellingham, as well as Moisés CAicedo and even the dream of Frenchman Mbappé.
