The Liverpool manager is keeping an eye on what is happening at the World Cup

Liverpool are going through a period of ups and downs and a lot of uncertainty at the start of the season, especially in the Premier League where they are not yet in the title race and have had several difficulties. Injuries in particular have hampered Klopp's plans and he is once again thinking about transfers.

The Anfield side have entered the fray to sign Rafael Leao, AC Milan's striking striker who plays better on the wing than as a central attacking midfielder; a Serie A star who has begun half-hearted contract renewal talks with his club.

Leao is 23 years old and is a figure in projection similar to the case of Luis Diaz at Liverpool, and even with very similar characteristics in the attacking position. He could be competition or a complement to the Colombian depending on how he returns from injury and what happens with other players like Carvalho.

It would not be an easy deal
The termination clause for now stands at 150 million euros, something that partially distances Liverpool from his intention; but they are waiting for the Portuguese star's negotiations to be truncated so that he can arrive at Anfield on other economic terms.

Liverpool have problems in midfield and up front following the departure of Mané, squad attrition and injuries, so a big-money signing is imminent for the summer of 2023 and Leao appears to be the front-runner, although Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG are in competition for him, according to Calciomercato, as recently reported by 'Calciomercato'.
