Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp declined to discuss the potential sanctions Manchester City face over financial irregularities brought to the table by the Premier League. "I have nothing to say on this subject," said the German manager as he appeared at a press conference on Friday with a look on his face that showed he was fed up.
Klopp was questioned about the Premier League's investigation into more than 100 irregularities as soon as he sat down at the press conference at the Kirkby training centre on the outskirts of Liverpool. However, Klopp, who has always been one of the most critical of the club state, chose not to speak out, given the uncertainty of the situation.

In 2020, when the Court of Arbitration (CAS) ruled in City's favour, lifting the two-year ban from European competition imposed by UEFA, the German was clear: "This is not good for the sport. In recent years, Liverpool have been City's great rivals in England. Since the purchase of the Manchester club by Emirates, Liverpool have finished runners-up in three league titles won by City (2013-2014, 2018-2019 and 2021-2022).
The bad news for Klopp is that Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara again suffered muscular problems and did not train on Friday. The manager said he will not be able to play in Monday's Merseyside derby against Everton and will have to find a replacement. Jordan Henderson, who has been a substitute in recent games, could come in his place.
