The iconic Steven Gerrard, who is now a manager (experience at Rangers and Aston Villa), has not changed his mind about who he considers to be the greatest footballer of all time. While he respects other greats, the Liverpool legend believes the GOAT is Lionel Messi.

He gave his answer when Gary Neville, speaking to Overlap, asked him for the number one in history: "The best in history? Lionel Messi, for me. But I will never say anything negative about Ronaldo because he is another phenomenal player. In my era, his numbers... I'm not sure anyone else can do it. I'm not sure."
