Not all signings can perform as expected when they are signed, and on many occasions players who promised to become stars of the team end up leaving through the back door. Such is the case with Naby Keita, who arrived at Liverpool in 2018 when the Anfield board paid €60 million for him.
Considering the huge investment the club made in him, Keita promised to become an absolute star of the team, as he had shown that he had the qualities and talent to succeed in the Premier League. However, he never showed the level that Jürgen Klopp expected of him and was relegated to being a substitute during his time at the club, a role that did not sit very well with the player himself, as he was unhappy with his playing time.
However, time proved the German tactician right, because without Keita as a key player, our Liverpool managed to win every possible trophy, and although Naby was part of that squad he never had a leading role and was not one of the relevant players to win the trophies.
After five years at Anfield, Keita was eager to leave and Klopp was eager for him to go. So, this summer Keita signed for Bundesliga side Werder Bremen at zero cost, meaning it was a big loss for Liverpool, but now karma has come for Keita and it looks like he won't have much activity at his new club either.
Naby Keita will miss at least several weeks due to an abductor injury, so he will not see activity with his new team. Keita was injured in training.
