Steven Gerrard is for many Liverpool's most famous legend

Being compared to a club's greatest legend can be a lot of pressure for a player new to a new team. If we talk about our Liverpool, for any player who arrives and is compared to the legendary Steven Gerrard, it is a huge burden and usually ends up weighing too heavily on them, to the point that they never perform to the level expected.

Such is the case of Arthur Melo, who a year ago arrived at Anfield on loan and with the promise of becoming a benchmark of the team's midfield, as Arthur was once considered one of the most promising players in the world and with the news of his arrival at Liverpool came to be compared to Steven Gerrard, however injuries and his low level have made him one of the most disappointing reinforcements in the history of the team.

After only one season at Anfield, Arthur played only one game. One game for a player who at the time was valued at 70 million euros, is nothing more than an abosluto failure. For obvious reasons Klopp did not want the team to buy him at the end of the campaign and Arthur had to return to Juventus, where the coach of the bianconeri club told him that he should find a new team since he was not in plans for the next season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arthur has already reached an agreement with Fiorentina to play with them next season and will undergo his medical tests this Friday, however despite the fact that Arthur Melo is still a young player, it seems that no club in Europe wants to buy him definitively as it seems that the agreement with Fiorentina includes a purchase option, but it is not mandatory.

Why nobody wants to buy Arthur Melo?

Arthur Melo came to be considered the midfielder of the future after having been at Barcelona and being bought by Juventus in 2020 for 80 million euros. However from that moment on, Arthur has suffered constant injuries that have prevented him from becoming the player many believed he would be, which is why there is currently no team willing to make an investment in him and have the same thing happen to them as Juventus.
