Liverpool should consider hiring Steven Gerrard as sporting director. He has a track record for good talent identification while at Rangers, attracted big names like Coutinho to Villa and Paolo Maldini has similarly been successful in the role at Milan, Ben Bocsak reported.

But those who had brought him close to the possibility of a return to Liverpool ended up betraying him, according to local media reports. So the possibility of the legend's return to Anfield has fizzled out and he is now looking for a place to pursue his managerial career.
