Roberto Firmino has decided to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli as a free agent

One of the great figures that our Liverpool has had in recent years is Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino, who since his arrival at Anfield in 2015, when the Reds board paid 41 million euros to Hoffenheim for him, showed his enormous talent and amazed Jürgen Klopp and the rest of his teammates.

Firmino quickly earned himself a starting place and over the years established himself as a team legend, as together with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané he formed one of the most dangerous tridents in European football, winning every trophy possible and eventually scoring 111 goals in 362 appearances for Liverpool.

This summer, Roberto Firmino left Anfield as a free agent after Jürgen Klopp and the board agreed with him that he would no longer be part of the team's future project and as a thank you for everything he did for the team, they would let him decide his own destiny as a free agent. It was then, amid rumors of interest from several clubs, that Firmino decided to join the long list of stars who will play in the Saudi Pro League, as he accepted Al-Ahli's offer to join them from next season.

With the large number of big name signings being made by the various teams in the Saudi Pro League, the name of Sadio Mané emerged as a possible reinforcement of Al-Ahli where he would be reunited with his old friend from Liverpool, however it seems that Mané would have decided to join Al-Nassr where Cristiano Ronaldo plays.

Premier League star to be Firmino's teammate

Despite all indications that Mané will not join Al-Ahli, Firmino and his new club are very close to signing another Premier League star, as according to Fabrizio Romano, Riyad Mahrez has already completed his medicals and is on his way to Saudi Arabia to make his transfer official.
