This World Cup winner was dreaming of signing for Liverpool

The Enzo Fernandez story that began after the end of the last World Cup in Qatar seems to be about to end... thanks to the economic potential that Chelsea now have at their disposal: after spending more than 200 million in January, the English club are determined to put the finishing touch to the deal with the signing of the Argentine pivot. But beware, this move will have more consequences than just the arrival of a top player at Stamford Bridge: one of Chelsea's heavyweights, Jorginho, could leave the team, spurred on by Enzo's arrival in London. In the knowledge of this situation, Arsenal are keen to try and secure the Italian's services.

The Gunners currently lead the Premier League standings and, according to BBC News, Mikel Arteta is ready to welcome Jorginho to his ranks to reinforce the midfield after the 180º turnaround experienced with Moisés Caicedo, who a few days ago seemed to have closed his transfer to Arsenal. With that aside, Jorginho was one of the alternatives chosen by Xavi to replace the departure of Sergio Busquets next summer. The captain finishes his contract and will not renew his commitment with the club, so the Catalan coach, knowing this, has been leaving different names in the club's offices for several months, one led by the aforementioned Jorginho as he is a man who is very similar to the '5' of Barça footballistically speaking.

However, the club are not considering making an offer for the midfielder until he is released next summer and Arsenal's arrival on the scene could not only provide Arteta with a luxury reinforcement for the second half of the campaign, but also take Xavi's top priority away from Can Barça to replace Busquets.

Mac Allister thought about Liverpool

According to reports from Argentine journalist Nahuel Lanzon, thinking that there are Argentines in the Big Six teams, Brighton's Alexis Mac Allister, had the illusion of being signed by Liverpool. However, an offer never arrived and the Reds' owners made it clear before deadline day that they were not going to sign any more players after Cody Gakpo.
