Liverpool had a horror Sunday as they were knocked out of the FA Cup

Liverpool had a horror Sunday as they were knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of Brighton by a 2-1 scoreline, leaving them unable to defend the title they won last season. This is a huge blow for the Reds and especially for German manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds started off on the front foot with a goal from Harvey Elliot who took advantage of an assist from Mohamed Salah in the 30th minute, but that was all they could manage in attack because the Seagulls then took control of the game and the scoreboard.

Goodbye Gakpo, what Klopp had to say about his run without scoring

Before the end of the first half, Brighton equalised when Dunk deflected in a Lamptey shot. Goalkeeper Alisson was unable to save. In the second half, Liverpool played lousy, Klopp's changes didn't work and the Seagulls took advantage to score the winning goal. In the last minutes of the game, Japan's Mitoma scored a great goal to make it 2-1 and eliminate Liverpoo.

Klopp's continuity

Jurgen Klopp has spoken several times about his continuity in recent days. At a recent press conference, he said that his aim is to fulfil his contract with Liverpool, which runs out in 2026, and then retire from football, as he has been very adamant that he will stop working at the age of 60. He is now 55.
