There was the first bombshell of the winter transfer window in Europe. Liverpool snatched Dutch striker Cody Gakpo from Manchester United for PSV. The player was one of the most sought after players after his performance at the World Cup in Qatar where he was the star of his national team. While Jürgen Klopp already has a star striker, Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo is still looking for a place to continue his career.

Linked with almost all the big clubs on the continent, Dutch striker Cody Gakpo will finally join Liverpool. In the last few hours, PSV have confirmed that they have already reached an agreement with the Reds.

The bidding for Cody Gakpo is already won. After months of rumours, it is Liverpool who have managed to secure the signing of the talented Dutch striker. "PSV and Liverpool have reached an agreement on the transfer of Cody Gakpo," confirms the statement issued by PSV Eindhoven.

Once the agreement between the clubs is sealed, the player will travel to the islands to undergo a medical and clear all the paperwork. "The 23-year-old will leave imminently for England where he will undergo the necessary formalities to finalise the transfer," it added.

Costly gift to Cristiano Ronaldo

While the signing of Gakpo by Liverpool was closed, through social networks, his partner Georgina Rodriguez revealed that the striker received as a gift a Rolls-Royce Dawn that would cost 330,000 euros, about 6 million 793,000 pesos. Cristiano is a collector of luxury cars and has several models, including a Porsche 911 Turbo S, a Koenigsegg CCX, a Brabus 800, a Range Rover Sport SVR and even a Chevrolet Camaro. Cristiano played a few weeks ago in the Qatar 2022 World Cup with Portugal, being a substitute for the last few games and being eliminated in the quarter-finals. During the tournament he terminated his contract with Manchester United and is currently without a team. Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr have reportedly offered him a big contract to sign with them.
