The transfer window is now less than a month away and the season is just over a week away from kicking off, so the different Premier League clubs are already finalizing details in their respective squads, but our Liverpool seems to be far from being done with the transfer window yet, as Jürgen Klopp has communicated to the board the need to sign at least one more midfielder.

In that sense it is clear that the team's top priority is to sign Romeo Lavia, as the 19-year-old Belgian defensive midfielder seems to be Klopp's number one target following the unexpected departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho this summer and he would consider Lavia to fill that vacated spot. However, negotiations with Southampton have become very complicated as they are demanding £50 million and Liverpool do not seem to be willing to pay that amount for Lavia.

That is why, according to various media, Liverpool is exploring other possibilities to reinforce the midfield before the first Premier League match against Chelsea and they have in their sights the 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder André Trindade, who currently plays for Fluminense in his country. According to several reports, Fluminense is willing to sell him, but not this summer but until the winter transfer window.

The reason? The Copa Libertadores, which is considered the Champions League of South America and which Fluminense is currently seeking to win for the first time in its history. That is why the Brazilian club does not want to lose André this summer as they consider him too important for the club's sporting aspirations and even though he would be a much cheaper signing for the Reds that would be the complication to sign him right now.

How much would Liverpool pay for André?

Reports in the Brazilian press claim that Fluminense expect to receive a £21.5 million bid from Liverpool for André this summer (less than half of the money Southampton asks for Lavia). Acceptance of such a bid would depend on whether Fluminense progress further in the knockout round of the Copa Libertadores, so Jürgen Klopp and the Anfield board will need to keep a close eye on Fluminense's next game.
