Trent Alexander-Arnold will play where he was best seen last season

Despite the fact that last season was a failure for our Liverpool, as the team could not lift any trophy and we were also left out of the next edition of the Champions League, it seems that in the end it was not a wasted season as Jürgen Klopp discovered that Trent Alexander-Arnold could work better as a midfielder than as a right-back.

During the last few games of the previous campaign, Jürgen Klopp opted to use Alexander-Arnold as a midfielder with the intention of taking advantage of his offensive qualities by freeing him a little more from his defensive responsibilities, and the Liverpool youth player responded in a great way, as during that time in which he played in that new role he led the Premier League in assists and chances created, which thrilled all the fans.

Trent's performance was so good as a midfielder that England coach Gareth Southgate decided to keep him in that role for England's Euro 2024 qualifiers in the summer. Once again Alexander-Arnold shone as a midfielder and was voted Man of the Match on one occasion, leading his team to back-to-back wins that have brought them closer to securing their ticket to next year's tournament.

All indications are that Klopp has already decided to use TAA as an extra midfielder next season, as even during the first two games of the preseason that is what he has done. However, fans are wondering who will then be the team's new right back, as Jürgen Klopp has shown no signs that he will change his scheme, so the German tactician already has in mind the right player to occupy that spot.

Liverpool's new right-back

According to journalist Caoimhe O'Neill, 20-year-old Conor Bradley looks set to stay with Liverpool's first team as the right-back prepares to sign a 3-year contract extension with the Reds. Jürgen Klopp has used him as a starting right-back in the first two games of pre-season.
